So I recently watched the 2015 movie Steve Jobs, written by Aaron Sorkin and starring Michael Fassbender. That led me to examine a few articles and photos featuring the late, great Apple founder. This could be a controversial article. I’m sure some people will disagree with me, but I’m going to say it anyway: Steve Jobs was male-model handsome when he had a full head of hair. When he started losing it, his entire look fell apart. He went from GQ-cover worthy to average in just a few years.
So Steve started balding in his mid 30s if I’m not mistaken. Not all that unusual. By the age of 40, approximately 40% of men experience male pattern baldness. By 50, half of men are balding.
His Hair Really Tied His Look Together
Steve Jobs’ flowing black hair was to his appearance was what the dude’s rug was to his living room. Fuckin’ a? Fuckin’ a is right. His hair was gorgeous as a young man, and I say that as a totally straight guy. And it detracted attention away from his face, which was somewhat square-like and puffy and unusual looking, though not necessarily in a bad way.
He was already a Married Billionaire When He Started Losing His Hair
So I’m sure he didn’t give a shit! I just felt like writing this article to show that hair can dramatically effect on the overall appearance of some guys. I’d look horrible bald. That’s one of the reasons I started this blog in the first place. Maybe you would, too — but probably not. Most guys can pull off the shaved/buzzed look without too much difficulty, so that’s always an option.
Jobs’ rapid decline in the looks department was also partially due to aging, I would imagine; he certainly did not age especially well.
Anyway, I hope I wasn’t too overly snarky or offensive here. That wasn’t my intent. I have my issues, too, believe me. I salute Steve Jobs, even if he did park in handicapped spaces. We all have issues. And okay, he probably wasn’t a five sans the hair and he never actually went bald, I’ll concede those points. He was a solid six as a balding man, by my estimation, and he actually started looking better once he went gray and grew out his goatee.
Do you agree with my assessment of Jobs’ hair loss and the affect it had on his appearance? Should he have considered a hair transplant or other hair loss treatment? Cast your vote in the comment section.
