Welcome! My name is Robert Price, founder of hairlossdaily.com. Whether you’re looking for in-depth, unbiased information about hair loss, or you’re struggling with hair loss-related stress and self-esteem issues, you’ve come to the right place.
I Can Relate
Let me tell you a short story. This was about a year ago. So my dad was 65 and losing his hair rapidly. He’d enjoyed a full head of hair through most of his adult life, so I figured it’d be okay to crack an occasional joke about his impending baldness. Boy was I mistaken! He said in response, “yeah, well it looks like you might be balding, too,” which practically shook me to the core.
I was mortified! My maternal grandfather was a full-on, legit bald man, a la Larry David, Dr. Phil, etc., and my other grandfather was moderately bald also. So I did what anybody with a lousy head shape, some acne scarring, self-esteem issues, and occasional depressive tendencies would do. I got obsessed!
I evaluated my hairline and crown dozens of times per day, took pictures of my hair from every angle, fell behind on my work, and researched balding like Tom Hanks researched AIDS in the movie Philadelphia.
Bad joke, sorry.
Basically I went nuts. This lasted for almost two months, I’m embarrassed to say, then I slowly started to regain control of my emotions and see the situation from a more rational perspective.
Not Balding, For Now
After countless hours of research, evaluating my progress every few months, and checking with a stylist during each of my subsequent haircuts, I concluded that I wasn’t balding. Or, at least it was unlikely.
I was able to save my dad’s hair, too! Well, most of it anyway. Turns out his hair loss was primarily caused by a statin, or cholesterol medication. He switched over to a different, but similar medication that the doctor said was less likely to cause hair loss. And sure enough, most of his hair grew back. Problem solved, all he had to was traumatize me to achieve that fantastic result.
My Mission
My main goal at Hair Loss Daily is to empower people who are or who may be experiencing hair loss.
No, that doesn’t mean I think all of you should start a treatment regimen immediately! That separates me from many of my fellow balding bloggers, many of whom are physicians who speak in medical jargon and are primarily interested in promoting their practices, not in helping their readers.
Simply, I want to provide you with in-depth, well-researched, easy-to-understand information that is as unbiased as it can possibly be, because information is power. I also want to offer you some practical tips and psychological tools you can use to feel more confident and at peace, no matter how far back your hairline goes.
Check back often, I’m just getting started here!
