I’m going through old emails that I avoided for a long time. It’s been pleasant for the most part, though there’s been a ton of spam, some criticism, etc. I liked this one from Tim, who’s had a (mostly) positive experience with finasteride and emerged from the hair-loss dungeon to (finally) see the light. His comments below:
Hello, Just wanted to drop a note to say what a great site you’ve built. I’m deep in the hair loss underworld (unfortunately) and have spent far too many hours of my life reading about Propecia, transplants etc. Your site is a great source of balanced opinion and resources and the first place I’d advise any balding man to look. The Propecia stuff is super interesting – I’m 8 months in and happy to continue for now, albeit I’d say I’ve had a minor drop in libido. Hair transplant next month. I really wish I didn’t care so much about hair but I am where I am! Thanks so much, Tim.
Tim mentions his small drop in libido, but seems like he’s happy overall on the finasteride which in turn makes me happy! There are many success stories with finasteride too, though that’s an easy thing to forget when browsing the hair loss forums or youtube. Misery loves company. And people who’ve had negative experiences with finasteride — or any medication — are much more likely to voice their opinions than those who’ve benefited from the drug. Just something to keep in mind.
If you’ve had a similar experience with finasteride or any other medication, I’d love to hear about it.
