James Gandolfini, powerful bald man

James Gandolfini – Proof You too Can be a Fat, Balding Chick Magnet

Last Updated on July 15, 2017 by Robert Price

James Gandolfini is a member of my personal bald hall of fame. He was perhaps my most controversial entry. The reason I included him was simple: he offers definitive proof that a man can be severely balding, 100+ pounds overweight, and still sexy as hell.

He was sexy and he knew it. In the gay community, Gandolfini would be considered a bear. He didn't swing that way but he would have been very popular if he did.

The Secret to his Sex Appeal

Confidence, gentlemen! Confidence. Simple as that. His mischievous smile, expressive eyes and rugged bear-like masculinity all combined to comprise an irresistible package. His success as one of the most brilliant actors of his generation also enhanced his appeal greatly. I’ve already said this many times, but I’ll say it again. If you’re great at something — something significant, preferably — then it doesn’t matter how bald or ugly or fat or small you are. Although maybe your size does matter to some women, I don’t know.

The Balding, Slicked-Back Look

I can’t think of a hairstyle that exudes balls-out confidence more than the slicked-back, balding-man hairstyle. You’re saying to the world, “yeah, I’m balding, I’m powerful, I’m confident — and if you don’t like it, get the hell out of my way so I can go hit on your girlfriend.” If you have the moxie to pull off this look, you’re all set — today, tomorrow, and for the rest of your life, I assure you.

But if that bold and powerful style is outside your comfort zone, no worries. Just take a lesson from Mr. Gandolfini, find a look you feel good about, and grab life by the proverbial balls. Shave your head and take the action-hero route if you need to. Whatever.

Wrapping it Up

Mr. Gandolfini was one of my favorite actors, and I believe his performance as Tony Soprano may well go down as the single best performance in the history of television. He looked great, women loved him, men envied him, and he has a well-deserved spot in the bald hall of fame. I miss watching him on both the small and the big screen, and I salute him. You can salute him here as well if you feel like it, simply by leaving a comment.
