My Five Weirdest/Most Overlooked Posts So Far, With Links!

Do you know what a deep track is?

Basically, it’s a song in a musical artist’s catalog that wasn’t a hit, but is widely loved and admired by their fans.

These articles are NOT my “deep tracks,” so to speak. They really haven’t been read much at all, but maybe they deserve to be read a little bit more often. Then again, maybe not. That’s ultimately your call. I’ve done some strange things with this blog, there’s no question about that.

I’ve talked about stints on jury duty, my love for the songs “Unchained Melody” and “America” and my disappointment with their usage in commercials, and written profiles of many great bald men, including General George Patton and Hunter S. Thompson (more on the General in a minute). Those articles aren’t getting much traffic, as you would expect!

I’ve also written a posts containing references to a Robert Frost poem. I imagined a bald Don Henley changing the lyrics to his classic song, “The Heart of the Matter,” in order to make it about losing his hair instead of losing his lover.

Weird stuff, indeed!

Anyway, here are five underrated/unusual posts I’ve written that may be worth a look.

  1. Balding? Insecure? Here’s How to FAKE IT Until You MAKE IT In Life

This is one of my best posts that deals with the psychology of hair loss. It references the well-known Ted Talk by Amy Cuddy and contains additional elaborations and advice, written specially with balding men in mind.

2. BALDNESS In Every Direction – My Day as a Roofer

Many interesting hair loss-related tangents and observations here. You’ll also get to know me a little bit better by the end of the post.

Every roofer on the job-site was bald or balding!

3. The Most BOSS Hairstyle for Balding Men – Big Cojones Requires

This is a fairly new one and it’s gaining a little bit of momentum. It’s a fun read, check it out!

4. There’s a Baldness Epidemic in the Construction Field – Here’s Why

I think I’m the only person on the internet who’s ever mentioned the baldness “epidemic” in the construction field. I came to notice it when I was on the roofing job I mentioned above, and through all the months I’ve spent researching hair loss on this blog.

5. General George Patton – Bald, Inspiring, Bad Ass and Old-School Even By WWII Standards

I devoted well over 1,000 words to the General, which was a little crazy, highlighting his many triumphs on the battle field and at home. I also chronicled some of his failures, if you will, like the time he slapped the holy hell out of one of his soldiers who was suffering from shell shock, now known as PTSD. He informed the terrified soldier that he’d promptly send him “back to the front!” The General was an inspirational dude, and I think the profile is worth your time.
