Dr. Phil has a huge set of balls, I must admit. In this interview he asks DMX about his 25 arrests, 12 kids with 6 different women (he’s up to 15 kids now I believe), why he doesn’t use rubbers, and of course X’s receding hairline.
The doc and X share a moment, and McGraw characterizes his own hairline as “thinning” and “receding.” Sorry Dr. Phil, you’re about as bald as a man can be, with a class 7 balding pattern on the Norwood scale. That pattern is also known colloquially as the Dr. Phil! It works for you, though, without a doubt and gives you an unmistakable air of gravitas. This style also works for Brian Stelter of CNN, who’s already rocking the Dr. Phil at age 31.
Interestingly, the doc was showing a Norwood 3 balding pattern as a senior in high school, which is more common than you may think. About 25% of men start balding before the age of 21 according to the American Hair Loss Association. You can click this link to view Dr, Phil’s high school photo. Additionally, on Dr. Phil website, there’s a picture of Phil that appears to show his hairline receding while still Jr. High (it’s the second picture in the slideshow). That’s extremely rare. Anyway, below is the video. Enjoy.
